Formula – Thank god it improved a lot!

Hi Everyone,

I hope the weekend started well for you? I will go to the market this morning, I just started a diet (to lose weight) two days ago so I want to get some fresh veggies to be more motivated. I want to lose 7 kg – my milestone will be at 59kg, 3 more kilos to lose. Cross your fingers for me, food and eating is a DIFFICULT topic – you all know it.I will shortly post some more information on being on calorie diet with PKU.I think almost everyone wants to lose some weight at some point, so tips can be always useful πŸ™‚

I’d be also happy about YOUR advise or motivation to reach my goal… go ahead and leave me a comment or drop me a line:

Enclosed you’ll find a new poll on the topic formula, I want to know who’s sticking to the “traditional” powder and who likes taking the formula with tablets. I’m really excited about your answers. I belong to the “tablet-lovers” πŸ˜‰ Even though I have to take 120 pieces a day (3x40pcs) it’s much more comfortable to me. No bitter aftertaste, easy to handle when you’re out, and when you’re trained you can take 10 at one time with a bit of water. So this is the perfekt solution – for me. But I really have to say, that the powder also improved a lot over the last few years. When I was a child, it still was a real challenge to take the powder since the taste was very strong and there was only little choice.

By the way, in Europe, there is a discussion whether the Omega 3 essential fatty acids shall be added to formulas or not. I think this would be a huge approach to make our diet more complete and healthier. What about the U.S. does anyone know whether there is already Omega 3 essential fatty acids added in formulas?

Well, this is a long post today – I hope it doesn’t scare you. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone,

here is a new poll for you. It just came to my mind because I got a letter last week telling that I won a 100 € coupon for free low protein products. I was so happy about it and ordered immediately and I received it yesterday. What a blessing. I ordered low protein milk powder, flour, chips, citron cake, noodles, multivitamin bars. Sadly, the budget was spent too quickly πŸ˜‰ But what am I telling this to you – you know the situation yourself πŸ™‚

Whats going on? Is everyone fine?

Food Review: Promin Pasta Shells in a Low Protein Tomato Pepper Herb Sauce

Hi everyone,

I wanted to post this review for ages but I had problems with my camera and tried it with the mobile phone of my fiancΓ© and FINALLY I got the pictures so I can write you this review πŸ™‚

Promin has some very tasty products and today I want to introduce the PKU Pasta Shells in a low protein tomato Pepper & Herbs sauce.

I think that already the packaging is very inviting. One buying size is a small bag with 4 sachets of 72 g, which means 4 small portions. One sachet has a phe amount of 29mg.

The preparation is pretty easy, you only need 275ml of cold water to stir in and bring it to boil, don’t forget to stir regularly. Then reduce the heat to a lower level and let it cook for 15-18 minutes without adding the cover. Thats all πŸ™‚

Here is the picture of the prepared meal:

It not only looks delicious, it also tastes delicious. The sauce has an absolutely tasty seasoning which makes this meal to a favourite one when I need a quick prepared meal. And of course the phe amount of 29 mg is also fantastic. Low protein and so tasty!

The only thing I do have to mourn about is that the sachets of 72g is a very small portion. It might look a lot on the picture, but for a big hunger you’d rather take two sachets.

What do you think of the Promin products? Have you tried out this one or others? Would you like to try it out?

For all of you who don’t know yet the promin products, here is the link to their homepage:
