here is a new poll for, today it’s not about PKU, but healthy living in general 🙂
Have a great day 🙂
diets are going well, both PKU and low calorie diet… I found a sweet temptation kind of lindt pralinés which are absolutely tasty and with 30mg phe per piece still “affordable” and those 80 calories can also be calculated in a daily diet plan 🙂
Beside that, I’m doing well with the low calorie diet, I already lost 2 kg in two weeks now and I pamper myself from time to time so I don’t have the feeling I miss something!
I go to the gym twice a week, doing some running, yesterday I made 5 kilometres in 40 minutes, which I am proud of (might not be good for some others, but for me it’s great 🙂
Hoping you all enjoy the weekend…
I found out that a low protein food supplier has the Cambrooke egg replacer and I was really excited about this. I heard that it’s easy to make omeletts with it. Over here we do have several kinds of egg replacer too but they are only described for bakery use.
So I will try out and write a food review for you shortly.
Has anyone of you tried out this egg replacer? What are your favourite recipes using it?
hope you’re feeling fine… In todays’ blog I want to encourage you to find your very own PKU compatible restaurant – never give up until you found it!
Me and my boyfriend we use to go out for dinner very often and we found several PKU compatible restaurants. My all time favourite was a Korean restaurant (WOW – the salads, especially Kimchi were thrilling 🙂 By the way, kimchi is a kind of cole slaw but pickled with hot sauce. very strange at the beginning, but so very special and tasty!) Well unfortunately this Korean restaurant was closed because of family matters – now we found a suitable replacement:
A Lebanese fast food restaurant, which offers great soups, salads and Baba Ganuj (aubergine purree) as you can see on this picture I took especially for you.
So, though it’s hard to find something suitable for PKUs – don’t give up searching. You will find the right place and the right people who are willing to help you with special wishes.
What is your experience with restaurants?
Have a great weekend everyone!
you know I wrote about my plans to lose weight and I am still wondering how all of you are dealing with this topic. I already got feedback on this and will share it with you in a while.
Well, I am getting along pretty well, I’m on day 10 now. I’m feeling good, only had a few sins, which were PKU sins at the same time and I discovered, that I end up at the refridgerator when I fall asleep on the couch in the evening.
I learned that it’s not bad to go out eating when you’re on diet (we went to the Chinese yesterday). There was an All you can eat buffet and I set up a few rules for myself in the beginning. I wanted to drink only tea and water (done), I wanted to abstain from the deep-fried things like spring rolls etc., I wanted to eat a lot of vegetable sushi and salads and a soup which are basically low in protein, fat and calories and only eat a litte portion of a vegetable main dish. For dessert, I wanted to stick on the fresh fruits like melone and pineapple.
I’m glad to say, it worked, I sticked to every detail of the plan and I was satisfied and full (but in a nice way, not as if you ate a stone, which is often a feeling I have when I eat deep fried things)
Only problem is: my scale is not showing any difference… 😦 I think I need to be persistent and maybe in one week I will see the first results. What do you think?
PS: By the way, I got a great recipe from a friend of mine for a Thai brussels sprout soup it’s so delicious with coconut milk – I will share it with you soon! I think it’s rather high in phe (because of the brussel sprouts, they contain 150mg phe per 100g) but very low in calories.
today you’re reading a new review on pasta in sauce from Promin.
This is what the packaging looks like. one bag contains 4 sachets with 66g content.
It’s just as easy to prepare as the other taste with tomatoe herb sauce. It only takes up to 15 minutes. I really like it, even though I am not into broccoli. The cheesy taste is great! It goes along well with a nice salad or some veggies!
One sachet contains 246 kcal, 1,6g proteins which is 63mg phe and only 1,5g fat.
Here’s a pic of the ready prepared meal!
Have you ever tried this or other low phe meals which are almost ready to serve? If so which do you like best?
Love, Katie xxx
